Everybody knows “Good Skin is a Reflection of Inner Health”. But to keep your skin healthy and glowing you must know your skin type. You cannot do much about the skin type you are born with. But if you take proper care of your skin you can control and maintain texture and radiance from your 20s right through to your 50s and over.
For proper care and nourishment of your skin it is must to know the skin types and various ways to cure them. There are four different types of skin which include normal, oily, dry and combined skin. It is not hart to identify your skin type The degree of oiliness or dryness determines your skin type. You can also correlate skin type with pore size.
Know Your Skin Type
You can determine your skin type, let’s see how? . Wash your face and wait for 30 minutes. Now put a single piece of tissue paper against each area of your face: forehead, nose, chin, cheeks. Your oily areas will leave oil on the tissue paper.
Know How To Cure Your Skin
If your skin has a rough texture then you have dry skin. Dry skin looks dull and lack lust. Since it produce less oil, the pores are small. You must use adequate moisture or the skin becomes chapped. Wrinkles start appearing more easily as dry skin ages.
In normal skin you will find an equal balance of water and oil, making it naturally well moisturized. Normal skin has medium-sized pores. When you pull the skin away from the bony structure, it springs back to normal position.
Oily skin has a refined texture. The area producing oil shines naturally. Oily skin is a result of overactive oil glands which helps retain dead skin cells in the hair follicles. Also the pores are large. Dead skin cells gets darker when expose to air which results into blackheads. It is also found that people with oily skin have a tendency to develop acne in their teen and middle years, and overgrown oil glands, or sebaceous hyperplasia, in the middle and late years.
Mixture of dry and oily areas of differing degrees forms a combination skin. Forehead, nose and chin tend to be oily, whereas the cheeks and neck tend to be dry. Therefore, you would need to treat these two areas separately. It is found that more people have combination skin than severely dry or oily skin.
Helping your skin
Stick to a healthy diet, consume a lot of vitamin A which helps to strengthen the skin tissue ; vitamin C which helps collagen production; vitamin E which is good for conditioning; and vitamin B is good for repairing.
Supplement your diet with evening primrose oil; it contains gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), a fatty acid that strengthens the skin cells and stimulates moisture content.
It is also very important to have enough sleep which allows the skin to repair itself.
Regular exercise will boosts blood flow which will help your skin look younger and beautiful.
