Too Much Weight around the Stomach

Posted in Health Headlines

In these modern times, people have trouble eating healthy on a day-to-day basis because of all the hustle and bustle associated with work and school. So many people are tied to their desk sitting in front of the computer for hours on end during the day and do not have time to step outside the office and get lunch. That means that they will place an order with a deliver service or quickly run down the block to the nearest fast food restaurant. Eating like this day in and day out will cause people who cannot be active enough to gain unwanted and unhealthy weight around their stomach. Carrying too much weight around the abdomen area can cause serious health problems for men and women alike.

Weight around the StomachToo much weight around the stomach puts extra strain on a person’s heart, which can lead to serious medical problems such as heart attacks, strokes, diabetes and high blood pressure. The most dangerous of those conditions, high blood pressure, is considered the silent killer because symptoms of this condition do not arise until it is well developed in the body. Patients with high blood pressure will need to lower that pressure in order to avoid suffering a heart attack or a stroke during their lifetime.

What makes having too much weight around the stomach so dangerous is that once it is put on, it is even more difficult to take it off. Putting weight on is easy because of the binge eating but taking it off is incredibly difficult because not many people will want to exercise or eat right to remove the weight. Having too much weight around the area of the abdomen can lead to obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and many other medical conditions. When the weight sits in the area of the abdomen it pulls on the chest of that person, putting incredible strain on the heart, causing it to work extra hard to pump blood throughout the body.

Men with too much weight around the stomach should begin a diet and workout regimen after consulting with their physician about the perfect regimen for each individual person. A doctor will be able to examine the patient and determine how much exercise the person can handle each day without causing too much strain on the heart until the weight around the stomach has dissipated. If the patient experiences chest pains or other problems during a workout, he should stop the workout immediately and talk to their doctor. Do not let these chest pains go untreated because they could be mild or they could be severe enough to be associated with a heart attack.

Too much weight around the stomach area can also cause men to be out of breathe when simply walking down the street or performing yard work because their heart is working so hard to pump blood throughout the body. Men with too much weight around the stomach could also develop certain forms of cancer, Type II Diabetes, sleep apnea, resistance to insulin, high triglycerides and other medical problems.
